Passive House and me
You might notice that I refer to Passive House quite a lot in my blog. That is because since discovering it and becoming a certified Passive House Designer, I have been fascinated by the simplicity and efficiency of the standard. Ever since my second year of Architecture School where I was introduced to the class of environmental design, I saw the potential of climate responsive architecture, embraced it and kept on studying it. I always struggled to identify the applicability of passive design to an urban setting.
I designed my first Passive House multifamily building in 2016 while taking the certification course, and I was blown away by the conceptual simplicity and the rigid methodology required to design the building. Ever since I have been an advocate, public speaker and educator on Passive House. I am currently doing a Passive House retrofit on a townhouse we bought on a Greek island and seeking out more projects.
